Yes, you did not come to #fontmatrix asking for the feature at first :)

Basically, you won’t be able (with actual font formats)  to retrieve exactly 
what you want that way. Especially there’s nothing in a font but sometimes 
the name itself that gives informations about the style. For the foundry, no 
field either but you can be quite sure that if you do a plain text search 
with "Monotype", you won’t get Emigre fonts! More generally, do not neglect 
plain text search, as an example when I type "gill" I get 4 results among 
~3000 fonts : Gill Floriated, Gill Sans, Joanna and Pepetua. Nice, no? For 
font type, as someone asked for, you can have it with "CFF", "TrueType", etc.
Now, writing this, it appears clear that we really miss the possibility 
to "stack" the search results. I’ll do that.
